VESTIGES OF THE APOCALYPSE

This series similarly draws its inspiration from events of the past.  In this case, The ancient biblical story of the apocalypse.  The passage that forms the foundation for the series describes letters sent to seven cities, notifying them of the consequences that would befall them for consorting with the syncretistic world around them.  The seven cities are represented  by shield like forms.  Seven platters each representing a visionary experience, making a reference to the {apocalyptic angel’s} opening of the seven seals of the letters to the churches.  Six of the seals depict disasters of catastrophic proportion.  The opening of the seventh seal nothing happens.  It is from the meaning residing with the seventh seal and its imminent choices leading to an inestimable future.  These works derive their power, marking their relevance to contemporary times.
